Funding for this Clinical Research Scholars Program is provided by the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) through a National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) funded Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA). Additional support comes from the Schools of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing.
Each scholar is provided with the following funding as a K12 scholar (subject to change). NIH funded support is provided for a maximum of 2 years (24 months). If needed, a scholar will begin coverage under their department at the beginning of year 3.
- Salary support up to $110,000 (for 75-90% effort) plus fringe
- Up to $18,000 for tuition support plus $850 for fees
- Research support varies per year based on funding. Usually between $5,000 – $8,000
- Scholarly travel support up to $2,500 to support attendance to the annual ACTS conference and other travel related to the K12 award
We anticipate offering new K12 awards with a July 1, 2025 start, pending successful review and NIH funding.
Institutional support is expected to provide a second year of funding. The scholar’s department provides a third year of funding if needed. Ongoing support is contingent upon a continuation of funding, the scholar making adequate progress in the program, and completing program requirements.
