2022 Program Overview

The Johns Hopkins and Kaiser Permanente Research Collaboration Committee seeks to fund research projects that highlight the effective synergy of  Johns Hopkins and Kaiser Permanente (KP) in tackling the complex and intriguing questions vexing both health systems. Research projects within this program should best represent initial research that leverages the unique capabilities of JH and KP as learning health systems.

Projects are generally pilot projects that may expand into more complex research inquiries and proposals in the future. Funded projects will be managed by two co-Principal Investigators (PIs); one from JH and one from KP. If an investigator has an idea for a project but does not know a potential research collaborator/colleague, the leaders at each organization will endeavor to make introductions on their behalf.

Funding and Period of Support

These grants are for 12-month projects that are non-renewable. Funding is available for up to four projects with a total of $75,000/project. No indirect costs are allowed. Funding will not start any sooner than April 1, 2023, pending Institutional Review Board review and approval.
