Registration Instructions
The Introduction to Clinical Research Summer Course provides an intensive introduction to clinical research methods, emphasizing epidemiological and biostatistical methods. This online course is from Monday, July 13 to Friday, July 17, 2026 and can be taken for non-credit or credit. Instructors are Daniel Ford, MD, MPH, Director, Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Karen Bandeen-Roche, PhD, MS, the Hurley Dorrier Professor in Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
Upon completion, students will be able to:
- Describe the steps involved in conducting clinical research.
- Review and evaluate the main study designs used in clinical research: case-control, cohort, clinical trials, cross-sectional and meta-analyses.
- Prepare and review a research project.
