The ICTR Adult Outpatient CRU is located on Blalock 3 at Johns Hopkins Hospital on the East Baltimore Medical Campus. The unit has recently undergone renovations and has a fresh look. The unit includes a waiting area, 11 full-service exam rooms, a new negative pressure room, an infusion center, a phlebotomy room, a sample processing lab, a –80C freezer, 2 refrigerated centrifuges, a DXA scanner, and a conference room. Full-time clinical support staff includes two registered research nurses, a licensed practical research nurse, a certified medical assistant, and a phlebotomist. The unit also offers assistance with limited clinical skills training for non-clinical research staff, and tutorials on other study-related documents for investigators. The CRU staff will also travel to perform nursing services such as phlebotomy, IV placement, blood processing or vital signs for adult research participants on the East Baltimore campus. The Johns Hopkins Research Nutrition Core is also available for all investigators.
