The Pediatric Clinical Research Unit (PCRU) supports a unique aspect of clinical research in a space specifically designed for the needs of children and their families. The PCRU prides themselves in making the space both calming and fun for even the smallest research participants.

The PCRU is staffed by a phlebotomist with over 18 years’ experience in pediatrics and a Certified Pediatric Nurse.

This 20 minute video created by Dr. Robert Wood, professor of Immunology and Pediatric-Allergy & Immunology, and ICTR Deputy Director for Pediatric Research, describes how to handle allergic reactions for the non-allergist. This is recommended for clinicians who monitor participants who may have allergic reactions.
