Meet Our Team
Anthony Keyes, MBA, PMP

Anthony is the Assistant Director of Research Workforce Operations who joined Johns Hopkins in 2009. He completed an MBA from the Johns Hopkins, Carey Business School and a BS from the University of Maryland, College Park. He is primarily interested in project management, research administration, training and education of research professionals, compliance and quality improvement. Anthony leads several ICTR initiatives including, Research Coordinator Support Services (RCSS), the Coordinator Apprentice Program (CAP) and the ClinicalTrials.gov Program.

Mais Hamdawi, MD

Mais is a Senior Research Program Manager with a comprehensive understanding of diverse research protocols. She has earned recognition for her significant contributions to the field of clinical research. Since joining Johns Hopkins University in 2020, she has participated in 47 different research studies across various departments, gaining valuable insights, leadership skills, and program management expertise that complement her medical background.

Mais successfully designed and implemented the institution-wide Research Personnel Onboarding Program, which she currently manages. Since its launch in 2022, the program has provided over 4,000 hours of training to less experienced research personnel, ensuring compliance with research regulations and facilitating seamless integration while upholding institutional and ethical standards. She also plays a vital role in overseeing the Research Coordinator Support Service and the Coordinator Apprenticeship Program.

As a dedicated and accomplished medical doctor with an M.B.Ch.B from Baghdad University in Iraq, Mais is passionate about broadening her expertise to deliver impactful results and address complex challenges in clinical research.

Osamah Alsaadi, MD

Osamah is a Senior Research Program Supervisor at Johns Hopkins University and holds an M.B.Ch.B. degree in Medicine and General Surgery from Al-Anbar University, College of Medicine in Iraq.

With a strong foundation in medicine, Osamah transitioned his career towards clinical research to bridge the gap between theory and practice. His passion lies in conducting research that enhances our understanding of diseases and benefits patients.

Osamah aspires to become a Clinical Research Program Manager, aiming to oversee complex research projects and mentor emerging researchers. He brings dedication, a strong work ethic, and compassion to his work, believing that the intersection of medicine and research holds the key to improving healthcare practices and patient outcomes.

Naomi C. Brioche, BS, BA

Naomi is a Research Program Coordinator who joined Johns Hopkins in January 2020. She has  worked on a wide variety of research studies. Additionally, she represents Hopkins as the Regional Coordinating Director of GMaP Region 1 North.

Naomi completed her BA in Theology from Barry University in 2008. Her passion for improving women’s and maternal health inspired her complete a BS in Maternal Child Health: Human Lactation from Union Institute & University in 2020. Her personal research interest include cancer prevention, chronic pain disorders in women, improving childbirth outcomes, and increasing access to appropriate support for breastfeeding families. In the near future, she hopes to pursue her master’s degree.

Stephen Cappello

Stephen is a Research Program Supervisor who joined Johns Hopkins in 2020. He completed the Study Coordinator Apprenticeship and Mentoring Program in 2021. Stephen has experience with Study Start-Up & Regulatory, Recruitment, Participant Screening & Informed Consent, Specimen Collections, and Data Entry & Management. Stephen enjoys interfacing with patients and is primarily interested in Improving the Research Participant Experience and Retention. 

Alyssa Cavezza

Alyssa is a Research Program Coordinator who joined Johns Hopkins in 2024. She earned her MS in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Towson University. Alyssa is keen on advancing her career as a Clinical Research Associate or Research Project Manager. She aspires to make significant contributions towards developing clinical solutions for pediatric and vulnerable populations through her dedicated efforts in her studies.

Zoey Onambele, BSc

Zoey is a Research Program Coordinator who joined Johns Hopkins in 2024. She completed a B.Sc. in Biological Sciences from Stevenson University. She is primarily interested in supporting and coordinating studies that explore emerging therapies. Zoey aims to further develop her verbal and nonverbal communication skills while expanding her experience in clinical research. With a long-term goal of pursuing a medical degree, she is excited to contribute to the future of healthcare.

Sofia Hail

Sofia is a Research Coordinator at Johns Hopkins, having joined the institution in 2023. She earned her MD from Kabul Medical University in Afghanistan and completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology overseas. With significant experience in women’s health, she specializes in birth trauma management, particularly obstetric fistula. In 2023-2024, Sofia participated in the Clinical Research Apprenticeship program at Johns Hopkins, where she further honed her skills. Building on her robust medical background, she transitioned to the role of Clinical Research Coordinator in 2024. Sofia has contributed to various research projects, gaining valuable experience in regulatory processes, IRB submissions, subject screening and recruitment, informed consent procedures, data management, and the training of junior research personnel. In her leisure time, she enjoys English and Persian literature, music, and traveling.

Jamie Hyman

Jamie is a Research Program Coordinator who joined Johns Hopkins in 2021. She completed a BS in Psychology from York College of Pennsylvania and is primarily interested in clinical research. She hopes to work toward becoming a Senior Research Coordinator and eventually become a Certified Clinical Research Professional. 

Marwa El-Ashry
Marwa El-Ashry, BS

Marwa is a Research Program Coordinator who joined Johns Hopkins in 2023. She completed a BS in Biobehavioral Health with minors in Neuroscience and Biology from Penn State University. She is primarily interested in working towards a PhD in the field of Neuroscience, but is still interested in discovering a new passion in another specialty. She hopes to work toward improving her skills such as verbal communication and public speaking, leadership, and protocol and clinical development as they apply to research and patient advocacy.

Eunice Panyin

Eunice is a Research Program Coordinator at Johns Hopkins University. She has a Master’s Degree in Demography from University of Ghana. She is currently training to be a Study Coordinator. She loves to bake and read and hopes to be one of the best Study Coordinators in the field.
