This chat, sponsored by the ICTR Biostatistics and Study Design Program, focuses on how to best work with electronic health record (EHR) data, as well as tools and practices to improve the transparency, flexibility, reproducibility, and productivity of precision medicine research based on experience with the JH-CROWN COVID-19 registry.
Discussion Points:
- Efforts required to produce analysis-ready data from EHR data (which may be difficult even to experienced researchers).
- Challenges to collaboration and sharing of code-i.e. interoperability of data formats and structures.
- Decision making during data processing
