Program Funding
Funding for the K12 Research in Addictions Scholars Program (KRASP) is provided by a K12 grant from the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA). The grant supports four training slots, and initially proposed this as consisting of two physicians and two non-physician doctoral level faculty (e.g., PhDs).
Each scholar is provided with funding (subject to change). NIH funded support is provided for a maximum of 3 years (36 months). Once accepted into the KRASP, funding for years 2 and then 3 is contingent upon performance in the program, participation, and completing program requirements. Funding for years 2 and 3 is not guaranteed.
- Salary support up to $100,000 (for at least 75% effort) plus fringe for a physician.
- Salary support up to $70,500 (for at least 75% effort) plus fringe for a non-physician.
- Research funds of $50,000 per year for each scholar (this allocation includes funds for travel).
