Announcement from the Vice Dean for Clinical Investigation – Recertification Clinical Research Billing Orientation Requirement

January 6, 2021

Effective January 1, 2021, the Johns Hopkins Clinical Research Revenue Cycle will implement revised training requirements for clinical research studies that require a Prospective Reimbursement Analysis (PRA). As a result of the Johns Hopkins Medicine Internal Audit – Clinical Trial Billing Process Audit, retraining is recommended every three (3) years for Clinical Research Billing Orientation.  The required training will be tracked using the Hopkins myLearning website at http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/interactive_learning/my_learning/

  • Clinical Research Billing Orientation (CRBO) is required for PIs, and for study team members who will consent participants. When a new research application is submitted in eIRB, you will be notified by Clinical Research Support Services (CRSS) if you are required to retake CRBO.
  • Please contact the Research Administration, Clinical Research Support Services (CRSS) [email protected] if you have any questions about the revised training requirements.

Sincerely,

Daniel E. Ford, MD, MPH
Vice Dean for Clinical Investigation
Director, Institute for Clinical and Translational Research
