ICTR Welcomes Dorothy Damron as Administrative Director

Dorothy Damron joined the ICTR in September 2019 taking the role of administrative director. Dorothy completed her formal education at Towson University and started her career as a research analyst and program coordinator at Johns Hopkins University and University of Maryland.

While at the University of Maryland, she hired and trained peer educators to conduct cancer prevention interventions. Dorothy served as the director of the Johns Hopkins oncology clinical research administration from 2002-2015 where she helped grow the program, and incorporate information technology into clinical research.

For the last 4 years, Dorothy commuted from Baltimore to New York City serving as the vice president for clinical research operations at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

We are very pleased that Dorothy returned to help both Johns Hopkins University and the city of Baltimore become known for exemplary clinical research within our region. She brings vast knowledge, experience, and energy to her position in the ICTR. As Dorothy learns more about the role of the ICTR in supporting research, she will continue to integrate the resources that we provide to research teams and identify new opportunities for partnering with patients and the research community.
