SUMMARY:Data Manager's Interest Group (DMIG) Meeting Webinar
DESCRIPTION:From Data Capture to Insight: Applying AI Across JHU Research\nThis session introduces AI tools and platforms available to researchers at Johns Hopkins University and explains how to access and use them responsibly. We will map AI capabilities to common research tasks\, such as literature discovery\, data extraction\, analysis support\, and documentation\, focusing on institutionally supported environments such as HopGPT and secure cloud-based AI services. These environments can support many research workflows while meeting IRB\, HIPAA\, and data governance requirements. We will also highlight domain-specific tools\, a secure system for data collection\, and study management. New AI features in these tools can improve data quality and reduce manual work. \nIn addition to tools\, the session will introduce a simple framework for responsible AI use\, addressing the questions of reliability\, transparency\, and accountability. During the final portion we will ask participants to share their use cases\, challenges\, and needs with the goal of identifying  priorities for tools\, training\, and support within the ICTR community. \nSpeakers: \nKelly Lyman and James Weatherall\nJHU Research Information Technology\, IT@JH \nInna Kouper\nJHU Data Services\nSheridan Libraries \nLinks: \nJoin the DMIG on Teams

SUMMARY:Clinical Trials Day
DESCRIPTION:Join the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine Office of Clinical Trials and the Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research as we celebrate Clinical Trials Day 2026 — marking the anniversary of James Lind’s groundbreaking scurvy trial in 1747 and looking ahead to the next era of medical discovery. This year\, we reflect not only on how far clinical research has come\, but on the extraordinary possibilities that emerging technologies — including artificial intelligence — are opening up for patients and providers alike. Clinical Trials Day is a chance to honor everyone who makes this work possible: the clinician investigators\, research staff and patient participants whose dedication drives science forward. Here’s to clinical research — and a healthier\, smarter tomorrow. #ResearchSavesLives \nClinical Trials events will unfold over the months of May and June. The Office of Clinical Trials will host events on Wednesday\, May 20\, at locations across Johns Hopkins Medicine. Stop by to connect with Office of Clinical Trials staff\, learn what’s new in the research landscape and pick up some great giveaways along the way. Whether you’re a seasoned clinical researcher\, a staff member or a curious patient\, there’s something here for you.
