SUMMARY:Masterful Mentoring Program
DESCRIPTION:The Masterful Mentoring program creates cohorts of experienced and trained expert mentors of junior faculty who are maximally effective at enhancing the career trajectory of their mentees. These Masterful Mentors are a resource that can coach and provide counsel to other less-experienced mentors within a department in handling difficult mentoring challenges and helping faculty develop and enhance interpersonal skills for optimal mentor-mentee interactions. Successful Masterful Mentors will accelerate the advancement of their mentees and elevate the quality of mentorship throughout their divisions/departments by providing a constant role model of the best mentoring possible. \nRegister through MyLearning https://johnshopkins.csod.com/samldefault.aspx. For questions\, contact Jennifer Haythornthwaite at jhaytho1@jhmi.edu. \nClasses will be held from 11:30 am – 1:00 pm via Zoom. \nNext Class: \nApril 2\, 2026- When Your Mentee is Stuck: The Mentor as Motivator\nThis workshop supports mentors as they practice skills to motivate mentees to make changes in order to accomplish their goals. Mentors will develop their skills in: \n\nApplying techniques from motivational interviewing when problem-solving with mentees.\nBuilding or enhancing your mentees’ confidence in moving forward.
