About the Conference
The goal of this conference — the inaugural event for an upcoming conference series, Data to Action! — is to build multidisciplinary networks around data, implementation science, and digital health; drive science and translation; and advance improvements in the development, implementation, and dissemination of medical evidence, with an examination of social determinants of health.
The conference will focus on data to enhance early detection and prevention efforts, and inform treatment decisions. The content will consider the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, including the acceleration of the initiation of vaccinations and the generation of outcomes data.
The conference is intended to be inclusive. It is designed for students and trainees; clinical, dissemination, and implementation researchers; physicians, pharmacists, and other health practitioners; social scientists; public health professionals and officials; patients and patient organizations; government and other health agencies; data scientists; and other stakeholders who are interested in improving existing approaches to turning observations into interventions that improve health.
Objectives
By the end of this event, participants will be able to:
- Describe data sources for the generation of real time evidence
- Quantify the impact of social determinants of health on the pandemic and vaccinations roll-out
- Identify and address disparities in data
- Understand the role of digital health and the regulatory perspective
- Promote data science in education programs
