Navigating Authorship: Opportunities and Challenges for Mentors and Mentees

Please join us on Sept. 28, for a School of Medicine Research Integrity Colloquium featuring a discussion of authorship issues in the context of the mentor/mentee relationship. If you are a postdoctoral fellow, how can you address concerns about your role as author on a manuscript? If you are a PI, how should you approach authorship with trainees and other contributors?

The conversation will feature Dr. Antony Rosen, Vice Dean for Research, Professor of Medicine, and Director of the Division of Rheumatology; Dr. Thomas Cudjoe, Assistant Professor of Geriatric Medicine and Gerontology in the Department of Medicine, and Dr. Joanna Konopka, Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Neuroscience and Co-chair of the Johns Hopkins Postdoctoral Association. The panel will discuss case scenarios and best practices and there will be time for questions and discussion.

The Colloquium will be held via Zoom from 2-3:30 p.m. and you will need to register in advance. Register for the program here

The Research Integrity Colloquia are a core component of the Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) Program, which is administered by the Division of Research Integrity in the Office of Policy Coordination. All individuals participating in research at the SOM are required to complete training in RCR.
