SUMMARY:Introduction to Clinical Research Summer Course
DESCRIPTION:The Introduction to Clinical Research Summer Course provides an intensive introduction to clinical research methods\, emphasizing epidemiological and biostatistical methods. This online course is from Monday\, July 14 to Friday\, July 18\, 2025 and can be taken for non-credit or credit. Instructors are Daniel Ford\, MD\, MPH\, Director\, Johns Hopkins Institute for Clinical and Translational Research at the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and Karen Bandeen-Roche\, PhD\, MS\, the Hurley Dorrier Professor in Biostatistics at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health. \nUpon completion\, students will be able to: \n\nDescribe the steps involved in conducting clinical research.\nReview and evaluate the main study designs used in clinical research: case-control\, cohort\, clinical trials\, cross-sectional and meta-analyses.\nPrepare and review a research project.\n\nStudents must submit an abstract for a research project prior to the beginning of the course.
