Enter the Wolfe Street Competition

The Maryland Genetics, Epidemiology and Medicine (MD-GEM) Training Program, through support of the Burroughs-Wellcome Fund, announces a call for applications for the Wolfe Street Competition.

This competition fosters training and research collaborations in genetics, epidemiology and medicine between the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine and National Human Genome Research Institute. Recipients receive up to $15,000 to support or supplement a genetics research project led by a partnership of two trainees.  Predoctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and research associates are eligible to apply; at least one individual must be a predoctoral student.  The two individuals need to independently represent laboratory or population-based science.

Criteria:

  • Students in the JHSPH or JHSOM; Post-doctoral fellows in the JHSPH, JHSOM or NHGRI; or Research Associates in the JHSPH or JHSOM are eligible to apply
  • A project must have at least two leaders, representing at least two of the MD-GEM divisions (JHSPH/JHSOM/NHGRI) and both population and laboratory science
  • At least one of the leaders must be a predoctoral student
