The National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH), which support the ICTR Clinical Research Units (CRUs) through its CTSA Program, announced last year that direct support of CRUs will not be allowed for any new or re-competing CTSA awards. Our CRUs have been a major source of support for investigators throughout Johns Hopkins and this change in policy will have a significant impact on our future ICTR operations. This NCATS policy has already been implemented for the 18 CTSA “Hubs” that received a new award this year and we have been informed that the policy will remain in effect for our next CTSA competing renewal (expected in May of 2018). We would like to invite you to attend the ICTR Town Hall Meeting to discuss the changes.
