The Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) would like to introduce the Office of Recruitment and Retention Consulting Service (ORRCS) to members of the Johns Hopkins research community. This resource is designed to assist researchers in developing and evaluating plans to recruit and retain study participants in order to facilitate timely recruitment and high rates of participant retention. Researchers may also request assistance with studies in progress when experiencing difficulty in meeting recruitment or retention goals.

Examples of issues that may be addressed through consultation include: developing a recruitment plan; developing a concise description of the target population and suggestions on methods to access the target population; recruitment of minority or underserved populations; budgeting for recruitment and retention efforts; use of media; methods for tracking recruitment and retention; and participant incentives. These services are offered directly to principal investigators and study coordinators in the Johns Hopkins research community. Students and staff are asked to coordinate their requests through a faculty advisor or principal investigator.
