The ICTR would like remind everyone of the importance of using the new E-Verify system as outlined by Dean and CEO Edward D. Miller in the all-faculty email reprinted below:
If you are a faculty member who is or may be in the future a principal investigator of a federal contract, we want to inform you of new university procedures for verifying the identity and authorizing employment of current employees hired after Nov 6, 1986, and assigned to a federal contract, as well as all new university employees.


ICTR Deputy Director Charles M. Balch, M.D., Professor of Surgery and Oncology and Dermatology, is the honored recipient of the 2009 Association of Community Cancer Centers (ACCC) award for Outstanding Achievement in Clinical Research.
Last fall I initiated the Clinical Research Management Database to help me understand what factors are making it easier or harder for us to conduct clinical and translational research within the Johns Hopkins SOM and SON. As part of this process, we systematically selected a sample of recent IRB-approved protocols for more in-depth assessment. We have had nearly 300 responses to the survey (nearly a 75% response rate), and I appreciate the many comments from faculty.
