Selection Process
Medical students are selected by an Admissions Committee which will be co-chaired by the program leaders and members of the advisory board. A time line for 2010-2011 fellows is outlined below.

Program Begin |
On-line applications must include:
- Web-based application form.
- Curriculum Vitae.
- Medical School Transcript.
- MCAT scores.
- A letter of support from the Dean of the medical school in which the applicant is currently matriculated attesting that the student is in good standing.
- Two letters of recommendation from faculty who can comment on academic performance and potential for clinical research.
- Optional letters from investigators with whom the student may have conducted research either during medical school or undergraduate school.
- Your two page personal statement should address:
- Your background and your interest in patient-oriented research and in the year-out program.
- Your research interests. If you are aware of a general area of interest or a specific topic or mentor, please include the information in your statement.
- Your objectives for the fellowship.
- Your ultimate career goals.
Highly qualified applicants may be invited to Johns Hopkins for interviews with faculty and students. Candidates will be selected based on academic qualifications, maturity, motivation, and to achieve diversity.
